Illustrated with 5 plates and a folding map. viii, 236 pp. 8vo, original cloth, cloth mottled and stained, errata pasted to front pastedown, first signature loose, otherwise a nice clean copy. Bishop Mountain, originally from Norwich and schooled at Cambridge, was appointed the Anglican Bishop of Montreal in 1837. He travelled extensively by foot and canoe some 2,000 miles to the Red River Settlement in Rupert's Land to unify his congregation and to encourage a sense of spirituality to the outer limits of his diocese.
